Arkhangelsk Region, Komi Republic, Gazprombank, Belkomur Company signed cooperation agreement
At the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, the Arkhangelsk Region, the Komi Republic, Gazprombank and the inter-regional company Belkomur signed an agreement on cooperation in the construction of the Arkhangelsk – Syktyvkar – Solikamsk railway.
The document was signed by Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Igor Orlov, Head of the Komi Republic Sergei Gaplikov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprombank Alexei Belous (Vice President – Head of Infrastructure Projects and PPP Department Pavel Brusser) and General Director of OJSC Belkomur Vladimir Shchelokov.
Under the signed agreement, the parties intend to achieve longstanding, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in order to prepare and implement the project of construction of the Belkomur railway. In particular, the document envisages the participation of Gazprombank as a provider of banking and other financial and/or non-financial services.
"The circle of stakeholders within the Belkomur project is expanding, and the fact that some financial structures, including Gazprombank, have shown their interest in it is a good sign for us. Cooperative relations between the involved parties have been established; we move towards the stated aim peacefully and, might be said, evolutionally", emphasized Igor Orlov speaking about the importance of the reached agreement.
"I am confident that the Gazprombank’s long-term successful experience in the field of financing transport infrastructure projects in Russia will make it possible to most effectively implement the construction of this major transportation artery", said Pavel Brusser, the Gazprombank’s Vice President and the Head of Infrastructure Projects and PPP Department, commenting on the signing of the cooperation document.
